GSRTC came into existence on 1st May, 1960, being a passenger transport organization, it provides bus services to commuters within Gujarat and neighboring states.

After its accomplished efforts in the transport sector, today, GSRTC has almost 16 divisions, with over 7647 buses, more than 125 depots and over 226 bus stations. The remarkable growth in various aspects has led GSRTC to achieve the national award for fuel economy 2006-2007; this award was handed over by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway (India State Road Transport Undertaking).

The remaining electricity can also be sold to the government or company through the grid. I.e. earnings with free electricity. If you install a two kilowatt solar panel on the roof of your house, it will generate about 10 units of electricity in case of 10 hours of sunshine a day. If we calculate the month, two kilowatt solar panels will generate about 300 units of electricity.

• You can contact the Renewable Energy Development Authority of the state government to purchase solar panels.
• It has offices in major cities of the states.
• Solar panels are also available from private dealers in every city.
• Forms for subsidy will also be available from the Authority office.
• You have to contact the authority first to get a loan.

There is no cost of maintenance
There is also no tension over maintenance costs in solar panels. But its battery has to be replaced once every 10 years. It costs about 20 thousand rupees. These solar panels can be easily moved from one place to another.

This initiative has been launched by the government with a focus on environmental protection. As required, solar power panels with a capacity of up to 500 watts can be installed. Under that, each such panel of 500 watts will cost up to Rs 50,000. This plant can be installed from one kilowatt to five kilowatt capacity.
