LPG subsidy to bpcl consumers will continue even after privatization
The government is to sell its stake in Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. At present, BPCL is questioning the subsidy in the minds of more than 70 million consumers using LPG. Explaining this to Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, he said that every consumer will continue to get subsidy.
Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that even after the privatization of BPCL, it will subsidize every cooking gas consumer. Dharmendra Pradhan said that the subsidy on LPG would be given directly to the consumers and not to any other company. This will not affect the subsidy rights of the company selling LPG.
12 cooking gas cylinders
The government subsidizes a maximum of 12 cooking gas cylinders (14.2 kg) per year on each connection. The subsidy is credited directly to the customer's account.

Customers buy LPG from the dealer at market price and then the subsidy comes into their account. The government subsidizes the customers of oil companies Indian Oil Corporation, BPCL and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.

The government is selling its entire 53 per cent stake in BPCL with management control. The new owner will get 15.33 per cent of India's oil refining capacity and 22 per cent of the fuel market. Out of the total 285 million LPG customers in the country, 73 million customers belong to BPCL.
